1967 Porsche 907 Continuation car

 Rare opportunity to own a factory correct continuation 907K Could be yours

This gorgeous race car is an exact replica of the 1967 Porsche 907K Shorttail. It was built by Erik Shahoian who is a well known Porsche enthusiast and private builder of these cars and 910s . This gorgeous 907 K is the sister car of the 907K featured in Excellence magazine issue # 293 published Sep 2022 story by Greg Hudock and photography done by Michael Allan Ross. To date, this car has no logbook and has never been in historic competition. The Car has been part of a private collection and has lived its life in a garage and admired, but never driven till now. It was recently completed with the assistance of master fabricator Roger Hamlin of Hamlin Fabrication and Engineer and fabricator Erik Shahoian. Once completed, the car was tested on track by Jason Richardson who is the Lead driver and competes in the current 907 K run by Shahoian and featured in Excellence. 

This 907 K Short tail is the last of the private builds done by Erik Shahoian who is a 2 time featured fabricator in Excellence. Once for his 910 build featured in publication #126 released in Feb 2004 and again for his glorious and very accurate 907K featured in publication #293 Sep 2022. This  uncompromising chassis  was fabricated using the original factory blueprints for the 907K supplied by Dale Miller. The bodywork was made from the correct Molds also supplied by Mr. Dale Miller. The frame of this car was hand built to a remarkable  0.5 mm tolerance as it was back in the day when Porsche competed in Le Mans.  The Body work was laminated using the correct Fiberglass twill cloth as was used by Porsche back in the 60s and Erik went to Vasic Pollak to purchase NOS of brakes, suspension parts, and steering racks – all factory original parts. He  then reversed engineered these for perfect replication for these 907s and other original cars around the World that Shahoian supplies parts for.  Shahoian has supplied parts to Bruce Canepa of Canepa Motorsports, and Kevin Jeannette of Gunner Racing in FL, And Dale Miller for his 908 Porsches and other car owners with original cars still in competition today.

The History Behind this 907K   

The Car was built for a private owner in Northern California who kept it in his collection but did not take it out on track. It currently has a 2.8 Liter MFI engine built by Erik Shahoian and dyno tuned by Jerry Woods racing. This 907K was garage kept its entire life and admired for the beautiful car it truly is.

Currently the car is in storage at Sonoma Raceway Where it was track tested by Jason Richardson in Feb 2023. Every significant suspension, chassis, and body part off of this car is interchangeable and identical to the factory original parts.  And can be used on original numbered race cars around the world.  

The suspension upright castings are hollow magnesium. The spherical ball joints and clevises are 6AL4V titanium, and 4340 alloy steel was used for hubs and axels. This car performs exactly as an original in 1967 in terms of handling and driver experience. Of course, the engine is larger than original and Shahoian has offered his services to construct a proper 2.0 liter mill for the buyer which would be required for FIA certification and most sanctioning bodies. Shahoian’s 907K has vintage race history and log books and the buyer can expect the same allowance with this brand new 907K.
