Description:
The Ex - Renato Bertorelli
1958 Lotus Eleven Series 2 Le Mans
Raced in England during the 1960s at circuits including Goodwood and Crystal Palace.
Converted to GT specification in 1962 for Renato Bertorelli and raced by him through to 1967 before going to Malta where its racing continued.
In the current ownership since 1988 and rarely seen.
Restored by Simon Hadfield Motorsport and run at events including the Modena Cento Ore and Spa Six Hours.
Accompanied by its original 1962 'buff' road registration log book, period correspondence, original roof section, single seat bodywork and passenger roll-hoop.
A true giant killer, the performance of an Eleven is that of punching above its weight. Whether racing in a ‘50s Sportscars or a pre ’66 GT and Sports grid, they outperform many of the cars they come up against and are tremendous fun.
Just one race has been completed since the 1,220cc Coventry Climax FWB engine was built by Tony Mantle. 0 miles have been put on the gearbox and differential which were both services after its last race.
Now with new FIA HTPs valid to 2034.
