Johnny Lundberger who was a very successful and famous racing driver in Sweden during the 60ies and 70ies started to prepare this car sometime in the early 2000s.

It is known that Lundberger prepared a number of Mini's that he converted into “Broadspeed"-specified race cars.

This particular one with chassis number K-A2S4L-553048 was originally his wife´s private genuine Cooper S 1964. She raced the car during 1965, 66 and 67 but also used it as daily transport.Road registration certificates from the time is available as well as a delivery certificate from British Heritage.

Unfortunately, Lundberger passed away in the middle of the project. At the time the car was at a metal and paint shop company for preparation. Body refurbishment including paintwork was done and finished, but the car was still in pieces.The Swedish minispecialist, Per Malmberg eventually assembled the car including a new front and rear carriage, electric wiring and safety cage, etc.The 1293cc engine was already prepared and assembled by Lundberger.

When the car was almost finished it was sold to Peter Franzén, Nybro, Sweden. Peter finished the last details, fitted the engine, and started racing the car in 2013.In 2014, Franzen added the best engine components available from Swiftune like:

• SW23T X-drilled Camshaft Kit
• Bronze valve kit
• Single groove Race Valve (31 o 37 mm)
• DC5.2 Crankshaft, Con-rod and piston Set
• Race High Torque starter motor
• Feather Light Flywheel and Backplate
• CSI Electronic Distributor
• etc

Then both Peter and his brother continued to race it for some years in the Swedish RHK-series with great results.

I bought the car in March 2021 and raced it together with my son and we have had two wonderful seasons with very good results especially from my son´s side. So, it´s really a competitive car in the right hands.

Now there are new projects underway and hence I´m selling this super nice car to the next adventurer.

The car is in excellent condition with a brand new HTP document and ready for the track.

• Rack and pinion
• Drive shafts (Hardy-Spicer)
• Rear anti-roll bar (MED)
• Rose petal rims
• Safety tank in aluminium
