Norway's fastest 1965 Shelby GT350R Replica in historic racing (with the right driver), can also be used in historic rally and regularity (road legal). The car is very potent, and with a skilled driver it has won 1st place in all the races it has completed.
Started as a 1965 Ford Mustang C-code, coupe built as a 1965 Shelby GT350R Replica. The car was ready for the 2019 season, with only the right parts to satisfy homologation in its class. The car comes with FIA Historic Technical Passport N-5286, class GTS 12, approved until 31/12/2030.
This means that the car can participate in races such as the Spa Summer Classic and the Nürburgring oldtimer grand prix. In addition, the car can participate in hill races and rallies in historic class and other regularities such as the Rally Monte Carlo historic and others. The car was previously imported from Sweden to Norway, so it had Swedish road registration. This makes it easier to export to Sweden and Europe compared to VAT.
Chassis: Acid dipped to remove all old paint and undercoat. Spot welded with reinforcements and with 6 point FIA cage. FIA approved central extinguishing system and hand extinguishing with foam. Leksan side windows with ventilation and periodically correct R-Mod rear window. A 22 gal. Race fuel tank.
Engine: Block is periodically correct HiPo 289, bored 0.30. Crank, rods (steel) and forged pistons are balanced. Heads are HiPo with correct markings that have been ported, and tuned according to requirements in relation to Homoligation and APP K from 1965. All parts are either machined or new, and after final fine-tuning with new pistons, "solid" cam and lifters passed 2 racing weekends in the 2021 season. The engine is built with a focus on good torque from 3500 to 6500 rpm. and to hit the maximum from each turn, instead of only having effect at the top. The car produces 352 hp at 6500 rpm (332 drive wheel horses) and 472 NM at 4300 rpm (90% of the torque curve is from 3400 to 5800 rpm). A «sharper» camshaft and longer pushrods can give more hp, but a narrower rpm range. A 22 gallon race fueltank with foam and electric fuel pumps, and a large battery is mounted in the trunk. If you want to save weight, these can be changed to smaller ones. The car has a 2,5" stainless exhaust system that manages requirements down to 90 db with additional mufflers (included), and normally below 100/95 db, which are Norwegian and Danish requirements.
Drivetrain: Toploader 4 speed close ratio with aluminum housing. Ram clutch, Hurst Competition Plus shifter, with steel liners and clips in transmissions. Racing intermediate shaft. Ford 8 inch rear axle, with racing axles shafts and large outer wheel bearings. 3.80:1 Detroit locker for racing.
Front suspension: Shelby drop. Quick Steer Idler and Pitman Arm. Racing springs. Red Koni shocks. Rear suspension: HD single spring for racing, Hard poly liners and HD shackel kit at the rear. Shelby upper traction bars at the rear and Red Koni Racing shocks.
Brakes: SSBS 4 stamped calipers with ventilated discs front, 10 x 2.5 shelby drum brakes rear. Master cylinder upgrade, 1" dual reservoir, adjusts for rear brake pressure. Racing steel braised brake hoses throughout the car. Racing brake pads.
Wheels and tires: 7 x 15 Cragar "Nascar copy" with Dunlop Racing CR65 tires. American Racing 7 x 15 with dot. road wheels
