2022 Sports 1000 Championship - 750MC
Want to get involved in the Best performance per £ series in the UK? Look no further than the RLM Racing Sports 1000 Championship. These genuine two-seater sports-prototypes on road tyres are faster around a track than hypercars and can be bought for less than £14,000.
Hailed as the ‘Pinnacle of Club Motorsport’ by BTCC Legend Anthony Reid, the RLM Racing Sports 1000 Championship is looking towards a new era in 2021. Series competitors have gone on to race in Professional Motorsport, such as the 2019 Champion Christopher Wesemael who became a British GT race winner in 2020.
These Sports-Cars are powered by 1000cc bike engines that scream to 13,000 Rpm and offer unrivalled performance that is easily accessible to novice drivers.
Sports 1000 cars are faster around Anglesey Coastal Race Circuit than a McLaren P1, Ferrari 488 Pista & a Porsche 911 GT2 RS. 2018 Champion Billy Albone posted a 1m 09.68s lap which is a over 1.5s faster than a McLaren P1 !
This performance has been achieved even with cost controls. The engine is a completely standard and readily available 1000cc bike engine from Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki or Yamaha. This is mated to a sequential gearbox enhancing the driving experience as you rifle through the gears. These combined with an extremely low weight equals 300bhp/tonne!
Competitors are limited to a maximum of 12 Yokohama A048 tyres for the season, these have a barcode applied to control the amount used throughout the season.
Multiple manufacturers produce cars for this series, they attend every event and are accessible to competitors. Arrive and drive packages are available through teams in the Championship; Spire Sports Cars, Tim Gray Motorsport and Mittel Cars.
The RLM Racing Sports 1000 events are Live Streamed by the 750 Motor Club to Facebook and posted on YouTube for all fans to see. Constant updates to social media take place throughout the events/season to support competitors and teams. The paddock is friendly and welcoming to new competitors of the series, plus offer help if there are any issues that may take place.
