MG Midget Race Car

This is a perfect starter car to get into historic racing.

Built on a strong later bodyshell (no rust whatsoever) with one piece fibreglass front end. Underweight and needs ballast to get to minimum weight for class. Has only been out a couple of times this season and achieved a class qualifying pole at Donington (5 in class) in the hands of a novice.

Since then has been refreshed as follows - 

New rear shocks, Peter May springs and PM alloy spring pads.

Full engine refresh by Paul Inch, including new bearings, valves, valve springs, Swiftune SW23 cam and followers, new ARP bolts, Cometic MLS head gasket. Run in and set up only this week on rolling road.

Car is built to Class D regs and sits on 5.5" alloy rims (unusual design) with Avon ZZS tyres that have only had 30 min. running. Unused spare.

Full race 1340cc engine (room for another rebore to 1380cc if you need to) with Peter Burgess head, MED pulley and 1.5 LDX rockers, properly shimmed. Weber 45DCOE carb on maniflow inlet and Maniflow exhaust. Recent (2 race old) Aldon dizzy with ignitor. Oil cooler, lightweight rad and electric fan.

Lightened flywheel and 4 race old organic Helix clutch. Straight cut close ratio gearbox and 4.22 diff. 

Mintex 1155 pads and aeroquip hoses. Foam filled alloy fuel tank below boot floor with Facet pump.

Lightweight fibreglass race seat with in-date belts.
