Description:

Overview
Originally built by Pearsons and more recently prepared by Valley Motorsport (both companies of the UK) it is fair to say that this car is the product of perhaps the two most victorious classic Jaguar specialists in European historic racing today.

With regard to the chassis preparation, no expense has been spared during a complete strip and rebuild by Valley over the past year. Its specification has been updated to that of their most advanced and reliable builds and now presents virtually like new.

Chassis & Body
The car is built to exacting standards and a precise ‘semi-lightweight’ roadster specification, meaning a steel tub (preferred by most preparers over aluminium for its rigidity and added safety), complete with alloy doors, roof, bonnet and boot lid. Meanwhile all chassis and suspension components are specified by Valley Motorsport and representative of their most up-to-date specifications. Details available on request.

Engine
The 3.8 litre, six-cylinder XK engine breathes through twin Weber carburettors and is built to full ‘Lightweight’ E-Type specifications with an alloy block and wide-angle head.

Eligibility

Suitable for all pre-1966 GT historic racing grids, including Masters Gentleman Drivers, GTSCC, Sixties Endurance by Peter Auto*, the RAC Historic TT, E-Type Challenge etc. And of course it is a perfect tool for the Spa 6 Hours in which it would most certainly be a front runner in the right hands. Also suitable for a wide variety of tours and rallies, for which the set-up could be easily adjusted to make for more comfortable road use, while retaining the versatility required to be competitive on the special stages and race circuits.

* Please note: an iron engine block may be required for Peter Auto, which can be negotiated within the sale.

'Sam Says':
“Plenty of companies can prepare a perfectly good racing E-Type. But if you’re a competitive driver looking for that edge, most would advise you visit one of two companies: Pearsons and Valley Motorsport. That this car is the product of their combined efforts removes all question marks as to its potential competitiveness. It’s also a car I know personally having had the honour of racing it several times and can confirm its front running capabilities.  ” - SAM HANCOCK.
