Cooper T59 (MAE Ford) Formula Junior

This well known ex Curt Lincoln Cooper T59 needs little introduction in the UK or Europe, regularly competing in FJHRA and FIA Lurani Championships.

A full bare chassis restoration has just been completed by Dave Abbott. This included a new roll bar which was designed and supplied by Roach Manufacturing. The ground up rebuild includes all new wishbones, drive shafts etc supplied by Peter Denty together with all other original specification components either replaced or crack tested. A comprehensive photographic record is available.

The 1100cc Ford engine, originally built by Geoff Richardson, has been fully rebuilt by New Techniques for the 2019 season (with a further full winter check for our non existent 2020 season!) It has, over the past few seasons, had all new main components including crank, rods, JE pistons and cam shaft. It has run faultlessly for only three meetings and has a full Dyno read out for reference. The original Jack Knight Ersa gearbox was also fully rebuilt (including complete bearing set) by Ian Nuthall Racing.

This Cooper has a wonderful history. It has featured in a number of period and contemporary books and publications which will be supplied with the car together with a comprehensive history file. The HTP is fully up to date and valid until 2026

It is now fresh from a successful steady shake down meeting at the 2020 Oulton Park Gold Cup where it ran faultlessly. On the button and ready to go, this beautiful car is a front runner in the right hands and it’s now time for another very lucky custodian to take over.

Comes with spare painted nose and screen together with precious original parts which were on the car when manufactured in the Cooper factory including brass radiator, dampers, steering wheel etc.
