An excellent basis for an appendix K historic race engine or a standard / modified road unit. I removed this engine from an early  Lotus Elan some 30 years ago and disassembled it. The cylinder head is a MK2 unit that is standard thickness i.e. 4.640 inches with standard valves. The cylinder block is an early genuine twin cam block with standard bore sizes and in great condition for its age. This was stripped and greased on the bores, so no corrosion.The sump is an early rope seal type. The con rods are 125E type but have some surface corrosion which should clean up OK. The pistons are with the rods but will require replacing. The crankshaft was removed and used in another engine I was building at the time so you will need a new crank. It has an early cam cover and the front covers for the block. The cams and cam caps are with the head but minus the chain sprockets. Basically what you have is a complete engine in standard tune minus the crankshaft and some minor ancillary items. Please message me for further info.
