Description:
Chassis 08 is the ex-Harry Acheson car and had a successful career with him in Ireland. Harry’s son Kenny also had his first drive in this car before going on to race in F1. It has HSCC papers and is ready to race.
The Crossle has been extensively analysed by GSD Racedyn and developed with their help. Our aim has been to make the car as fast and as nice to drive as possible and it has had a serious amount of time, effort and money spent. The car has good torsional stiffness and weighs about 405kg (wet). A lighter extinguisher, a lighter battery and an aluminium radiator would reduce weight below 400kg!
The Neil Bold engine has 4 races on it as does the gearbox by JP. Both use Millers low friction oils. The dampers were dyno tested 4 races ago to ensure they perform to spec and new Faulkner (certified) springs fitted also 4 races ago. There is 1 race on new high strength steel stub axles, brake master cylinders and wheel bearings. The driveshaft UJs are new.
The car has the best of everything with an Inconel exhaust, billet driveshafts, NMB Teflon rod ends, aerospace nuts & bolts, Goodrich lightweight hoses, special order f1 spec harness etc.
The car will need ballasting and therefore corner weighting for a new owner, but is otherwise ready to go.
