1971 BMW 2002Tii G2 historic race car to Appendix K spec with current HTP until 2029

Ultralightweight BMW 2002Tii G2 historic race car with UK HTP valid until the end of 2029. Please see photos above together with the previous Danish HTP dated February 2005 so loads of history.

This rust free car was bought 8 years ago in Spain where it had been successfully raced and then dry stored for 12 years.

The car was originally built and raced very successfully in Denmark (multiple Danish Champion) before being beautifully converted to full FIA G2 specification by Denmarks leading historic F1 and sports car specialist in 2005. The totally rust free shell was then fitted with ultra-lightweight Alpina spec 'pig-cheek' Kevlar wings, wide-body arches, bonnet, boot  and lightweight windows etc.

The full race spec engine then produced 200+ BHP on 45 DCOE Webers and only did three races in Spain since it was built.

The cars original Danish HTP expired in 2016 and it took over a year with the help of the FIA, Motor Sport UK and Barwell Motorsport to get the car re-commissioned, including an engine refresh and prepared to the correct specification. A new 10 year Historic Technical Passport (HTP) was finally issued in March 2019.

The car comes complete with a spare block, cylinder head and crankshaft although these are in an unknown condition, a long ratio 5 speed gearbox which has a hole in the bell housing (repairable apparently) and a variety of small parts. It should make an ultra competitive race car in any FIA  historic Championship or even a fabulous track day car. 

It will need new belts, seat and fire extinguisher and as it's now been stored a while thorough preparation.
