I am selling my Van Diemen RF 89 Formula Ford. 

I bought this car last year in Le Mans for a winter project to keep me busy.

The car has now had a full rebuild from the chassis up and is now ready for sale. I raced it at Snetterton a couple of weeks ago to see how it went and it was great straight out of the box. The car came 2nd to Ben Edwards and only 0.9sec off the win.

Set up was done by Souley Motorsport and was brilliant to drive. The plan is to do the French round at Le Mans in early September and then either sell or rent out for the remainder of the season. Anyone renting would have to run with Souley Motorsport. It will be available for the Festival and the Walter Hays Trophy as well as the Anglesey Winter meeting. 

Engine was fully rebuilt by leading Formula Ford engine builders, Neil Bold Engineering in Bolton and I have the dyno results sheet for the buyer. Strong power and torque figures. Only miles on the engine are the 2 races at Snetterton. It had a new head in the rebuild and also I bought it with an illegal CAM (I didn’t know) so it was replaced for the legal Ford regulation CAM. The rebuild costs were £2,700.

It is the perfect car to take on James Becketts Heritage Formula Ford Championship next season as well as race in many other championships accorss the UK as well as in Europe.

Car is now back from Le Mans where it performed perfectly. Fastest in testing on the Friday and qualified 2nd overall and first in class. Finish race 1, 3rd overall and 2nd in class and finished the second race, 2nd overall and 1st in class missing the overall win by only 0.4 second.

This car can be seen at the Walter Hays Trophy and taken away from the meeting.
