History

Car was built in 2007 by Mark Fish Motorsport for Mr Gusterson to race in the Dunlop Sport Maxx Race Series 2007. He competed well picking up several wins in the first season, link to some pictures and a video of a race: http://markfish.co.uk/portfolio/renault-megane-dunlop-sport-maxx-championship/ Edward James at EJM race preparation then took ownership  and again it was a fully sponsored car so no expense was spared in developing the car further. Not many aftermarket parts were available at this time so a lot of bespoke work was done particularly the coilover dampers which were built specifically for this car as there were no aftermarket kits available. Then it moved on to a private owner who did not have time for the car hence past on to me. I have raced it in the BARC South East Tin Tops and as a novice this car was competitive out of the box picking up good results the best being 3rd at Snetterton. I firmly believe in the right hands it is a championship winning car as it was 100kg overweight so put in Perspex windows and off you go!

 

Engine

Fully forged built by RS Tuning Leeds

External fuel pump, filter and swirl pot to avoid fuel starvation 

Currently has a 38mm restrictor in front of the turbo as per race regulations running 300bhp and 330 lds/ft torque mapped by Engine Dynamics so would be more if removed

I was told when I bought the engine it was built for 600 bhp though I bought it as I knew I would never run close to that

 

Gearbox

Brand new internals and rebuilt at the start of last season only done 6 races

Short shift

R26r clutch and smf flywheel again fitted  at rebuild 

Standard LSD would benefit from a Gripper or similar being fitted, would only make it quicker, though was keeping up with cars with them fitted with me driving so shows how well put together the car is!!!

Exterior

Fairly standard apart from orange paint and fibreglass bonnet. I do have a fibreglass boot as well but not fitted.

It is rough round the edges but has seen a lot of action you will see from the pics it presents itself well but after all it’s a race car not a show queen!!!! The car reads 9500 odd miles but these are race miles.

I firmly believe if you are looking for a competitive car out of the box this is it and is perfect for the BARC Tin Tops or the CSCC Turbo series and 750mc Enduro.
