1979 Lola T 760 Formula Atlantic
1979 Lola T760 Formula Atlantic for sale with 10 year FIA HTP.
This beautiful and unique car has excellent period history and was driven by Alo Lawler in the 1979 Hitachi British Formula Atlantic championship winning its first championship race of the year at Mallory Park.
In more recent times the car has been extremely successful, winning the 2014 Dutch Historic Monoposto Championship and for 2015, ’16 and ‘17 run with great success in the HSCC Derick Bell Trophy achieving many class wins and winning the championship overall in 2016.
All aspects of the car are in excellent condition and it has been maintained to the highest standard. It features a Gathercole BDA engine and Hewland FT200 gearbox and is fast, reliable and competitive, claiming 2nd overall in the wet at Silverstone earlier this year ahead of F2 and F5000 cars.
The asking price includes 2 sets of Mike Barnby Lola wheels with a good set of slicks and a good set of wets.
I also have spare body work and all the moulds to make new along with various jigs for fabricated parts, a spares package, 1 additional set of Mike Barnby Engineering Lola wheels with slicks. These items aren’t included in the asking price but can be negotiated if the buyer wants them.
The engine has completed 641 miles since Dave Gathercole complete rebuild and the gearbox was returned to JP Race Shop last winter for a refresh and check-up, so is good for another season of Derick Bell in 2018. The car is “on the button” and ready to race and can be inspected in my workshop in Worcestershire.
I have a large folder of information on the car history including period results along with invoices and gear ratio information for all the UK circuits and most European circuits.
Great fun and very rewarding to drive and only being sold to make way for a new project.
