Description:

1600cc Lotus Twin Cam Engine built by Craig Beck. I have used this engine for one season of Hillclimb and sprint usage in a Lotus Elan. The engine has therefore done about 50 miles of running since buying from Craig. The specification of the engine “as built” is as follows.

156bhp @ 6750rpm, 125lbfts torque @ 5500rpm, Ignition set 32deg BTDC

120E6015 Cylinder block with square main bearing caps fitted.

Steel EN19 4 bolt 4 dowel rope seal crankshaft

ACL Main bearings

4 Bolt 4 Dowel steel flywheel balanced with crankshaft

Baffled sump

Steel Con rods ARP2000 bolts

Mahle race big end bearings

Forged Pistons

New water pump kit 

New Timing chain

All new gaskets & Seals

Ported cylinder head, Sprint size valves

Q420 profile inlet & exhaust camshafts

Steel tappet pistons

Race valve springs

23D4 distributor, Points ignition, magnecor plug leads   

Twin Weber 45DCOE carburetors 36mm chokes. 

High pressure oil pump with Mahle OC38 filter
