Description:

Based on a genuine 1965 Lotus Cortina and prepared to HRSR/HSCC Historic Touring Car technical regulations.

The car is based on a genuine BA74….. chassis number and has been raced in class B of the HRSR/HSCC championship for many years with a 2 litre engine.  The car has won races outright with three different drivers and has also won the HRSR championship outright.  

The engine is a full race, all steel, dry sump 1975cc Lotus twin cam unit built by Bob Yarwood Engineering on 50 DCOE Webers producing 205 bhp and 160 ft lbs torque with electronic ignition.  

Gearbox is a Jack Knight ultra close ratio dogbox.  This is the ‘Leeson’ type box with choice of 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear ratios to suit different circuits and some spare ratios are included.  Diff is Salisbury type LSD with 4.4 and 4.7 ratios and Quaife fully-floating half shafts are fitted.

Suspension is Jim Evans designed with Leda adjustable struts, compression struts and large anti-roll bar, all fully adjustable for camber, castor and toe-in.  Alternative rated small diameter coil springs are included.  The rear suspension is leaf springs with adjustable Leda dampers, three radius rods and panhard rod for location/adjustment.

Brakes are large diameter vented discs with AP 4 pot callipers at the front and solid discs with AP 2 pot callipers at the rear with an adjustable brake bias box.  Wheels are  genuine Minilite magnesium with correct Dunlop CR65 race tyres.  There are some spare wheels and tyres included (some of the spare wheels are alloy Minilite copies)

The car is fitted with Sparco race seat, full six-point harness, Momo steering wheel, Lifeline fire extinguisher system and with full race roll cage.  The dry sump tank has been fitted in the engine bay (at great cost).  The fuel tank is a foam filled 40 ltr capacity unit.  A red top race battery is fitted with jack plug attachment.

The car has been built as a race car and is ultra-competitive with the right driver.
