Signed Michele Alboreto Helmet Radio - SOLD
This is now SOLD. Search for similar items.
Description:
Alboreto won the 1997 24 hours of Le Mans and the 2001 12 hours of Sebring sports car race. Alboreto raced for Tyrell, Ferrari, Arrows and Minardi to name but a few prominent and historic teams.
Sadly Alboreto died on 25th April 2001 while performing straight line tests in an Audi R8 at Lausitring near Dresden, Germany.
The item itself is a seemingly functional radio (needs aerial) that has been specially built into a helmet design that represents Alboreto's 1995 Ferrari helmet. It is yellow and blue with white and red detail and carries the eye catching and now obsolete 'Marlboro' sponsorship logo.
It has a Clarion stereo and two integrated speakers.
Alboreto's signature is clear and the helmet radio is in good condition with only a few small scuffs and a little of the under felt coming a bit loose.
This is a very rare piece of retro Motorsport memorabilia.
