Race wining Alfasud Sprint.

Bought unrestored in Germany in 2007. It was fitted with all details from the 1983 Trofeo Season, including series two body work. It had sticker on the Autodelta rollcage for scrutining in Jarama Madrid and 300kms from Nurburgring 79 that are still in the car. Also stickers on the body reveled it to have raced at the 1979 1000km of the Ring and 1980 300km, so it seems it had raced prior to the debut of the series in the ETCC.

No more history is know from the car at that early period. It was aparently stopped after the Trofeo series in 1983 and remained in restoration condition.

During our race efforts from 2007 to 2012 we built 4 other alfasuds, two TI and two Sprint and this car was restored, at first only reversing the bodywork to Group 2 specification (with the autodelta 1981 body kit) and raced it like that.

But the trofeo was a monomake. The gearbox was original without LSD or close ration, the engine only produced 138hp, the suspension was very high riding. And the car was heavy.

It was 2 seconds per km slower that our other full group 2 cars. So over the years it was developed into full group 2 spec.

Still has original body, no rust, never crashed, original Autodelta rollcage added 3 tubes for reinforcement, original uniballs, original pexiglass widows.

It was apgraded with 160hp engine, full rollerbearing race gearbox with LSD, bilstein shocks and coil over springs, race instrumentation, lightweight rear disks, wilwood 4 pot ventilated front disks (as per homologation). Every single bolt to make it a full group 2 car. It was painted original bruno cilento dark orange by that time, but it would need a new paint job and some cosmetic work to make it perfect.

It was raced from mid 2007 until this year, with much sucess. It was vice national champion twice with 1300cc engine,  won the 1600 championship later on with 1500cc engine, won the 6 hour endurance race at Braga. This year the only race was at Vila Real were it came 2nd.

Fitted with powersteering to cuope with the LSD armwork during the 6 hour race.
