My Mallock Mk26 SG EB slicks'n'wings sports racing car is for sale after my wonderful 15 year career with it. Ideal if you are a fast beginner, or frustrated in another series not being able to win anything.

130mph on 125HP. Very reliable, 450kg, race winner with 4 drivers, rebuilt with carbon fibre body 2010. Ideal starter car for slicks’n’wings Clubmans championship, Open Sports Series and others.

This is an archetypal slicks’n’wings sports racing car, generating high downforce for ultra-quick cornering yet slippery enough for 130mph on the straight. Beginners achieve 1’05 on the Silverstone National circuit and owner Marcus Bicknell ran consistently in the 1’02 range. His Clubmans Cup pole on the Silverstone National on 7th May 2011 was 1’02.379, He runs under 50 seconds on the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit. Among Mallocks, the car is neither short wheel base (ultra quick on sharp corners) nor long wheel base like the Mk 27 onwards (stable in high speed corners); it half way between the two for a comfortable easy-turn-in feel for the driver, with very little snappiness at the limit of adhesion.

The car is built from lightweight ¾ inch square-section chassis members with a fibre glass honeycomb floor and a carbon fibre body which was re-triangulated and strengthened by the factory in 2010. It is fitted with an MG Rover K 1600cc engine developing 127 hp – a production engine apart from a dry sump conversion for racing. The four-speed sequential Elite IL200 gearbox is mated to a Ford compatible alloy bell-housing. The rear axle is “live” with double trailing arms and a Mumford link, i.e. not independent rear suspension. Spax adjustable dampers, large 4-pot front brakes, anti-droop front suspension, super-strength halfshafts, Titan racing rack-and-pinion, high Ackerman steering arms, driver-adjustable rear anti-roll bar, Race-Technology data logger, lap timer.

Year of construction 1983. Chassis and carbon fibre body 2010. Spares package, 4-wheel Brian James lightweight open trailer available £750. £1000 discount if you race it in Clubmans Cup in 2016 making £10,750 for the car alone.
