For sale is the highest spec race FC RX7 that we know of in the UK. We've had the car for five years culminating in a best finish of championship second in class in Time Attack UK in 2014 and taking podiums at all except one round along the way. The car hasn't competed in 2015.

 

The car is a 1991 Mazda Rx7 Infini IV that was completely stripped and rebuilt by Rotary Energy and WGT Auto Developments for Time Attack and was featured on the cover of Banzai Magazine after the initial build. Since then it has been competing and developed further to its current spec as detailed below. The car has never been crashed or had any chassis repairs and has been rigorously maintained with all work being done by WGT (Rotary and Race specialists) with many of the high value parts being replaced in the last two years to ensure reliability with a large file of receipts for work done totalling approx. £18,000. The car is cosmetically in good condition although it does have some rippling to the roof as a result of a previous bonnet detaching and the front bumper has had some fibre glass repairs that could do with being filled and resprayed to look it's best.

 

Engine -  400bhp at the wheels at 0.9bar boost (approx 475bhp at the flywheel) - having done 2 seasons since being rebuilt at the end of 2012.

 

This is the max boost used since the engine rebuild but the spec is capable of running more and has water injection fitted for use if running over 1 bar.

Lifeline electronic fire extinguisher and battery isolator etc to comply with latest regs.

 

Upgrades bought but not yet fitted include RE-Amemiya venturi rear diffuser, additional dash sensors to give max/min warnings for fuel pressure, oil pressure and oil temp in place of current gauges. 1.5 litre swirl pot and Bosch 044 high pressure pump with all pipes and fittings required - wiring already completed. The car will be being used for individual events until sold so many/all of these may be fitted by the time of sale. The car also comes with a few assorted spares.

 

There are two additional sets of forged Volk Racing wheels, 1 set soft semi slicks, 1 set medium semi slicks and 1 set of wets available to buy with the car.

 

Attached video shows a flying lap at low boost, 0.6bar, prior to having the car mapped up to the current 0.9bar.
