Description:
Built in November 1959, this Austin-Healey 3000 was delivered new to Halifax, Canada in 1960.
The early history of this delightful 3000 is unknown but it was imported back into England in 1995 and registered JFO 281 upon its arrival.
Following use as a road car, the vendor sent JFO to highly regarded Healey preparer Bill Rawles for full race preparation in 2006. Bill Rawles prepared this 3000 to FIA Homologation 163, the fastest homologation for pre-66 GT racing, applying his extensive knowledge in the process. The steel body panels were replaced with alloy examples and an alloy head was fitted to the engine, accompanied with triple Weber 45DCOE carburettors. Since preparation, JFO has been raced successfully for several years up until 2014, achieving class wins against competitive grids.
It is presented today with a recently refreshed engine (one race old) and FIA HTP papers. Ready for more class wins, JFO is a fantastic pre-66 race car for both the seasoned competitor and novice alike.
Ideal for the Spa Six Hours, GTSCC and Masters Gentlemen Drivers.
