Description:
I have for sale a completely refreshed (and virtually brand new !) gen 1 Suzuki Hayabusa engine built by Karl at Extreme Engines producing ~ 195 bhp.
1300cc - Tuned Stage 1
Gas flowed cylinder head
Kent Re-profiled Suz 24 Camshafts (road /race)
APE Adjustable cam sprockets
81mm High Compression pistons
Billet idler gear
Heavy Duty EBC clutch and springs
Dry sump pan and pump.
The engine was originally built by Extreme Engines for David Brewis at the end of 2010 for his Modsports SC100. David then decided upon a different project for the following year and sold the car. The car / engine was not used by the new owner and David then bought it back at the end of 2013.
David then used the SC100 running this engine in 2014 racing with CSCC in the Special Saloons and Modsports which included two class wins at Donington plus the NSSCC at Croft where he set a class lap record.
These are short duration, 15 minute races so the engine only did approximately 3 to 4 hours running since being built by Extreme.
At the end of 2014 David and I did a deal on part exchanging his 1300 engine for a RPE 1500 engine I had.
David unfortunately snapped a spark plug off in the head when trying to remove one and therefore sent the 1300 engine back to Extreme Engines to have the snapped plug removed from the head plus a precautionary complete refresh in December 2014. I have the receipt for this complete refresh which alone came to £2,111.87.
The engine has not been run since and I only unwrapped it to take the photos of it for this advert !
It is therefore basically a brand new unused engine which would cost over £5000 to have built yourself to this specification and that is on top of the basic engine you would need at ~£1500 – therefore the total cost would be an eye watering ~ £6500 !!
Hence I think a very fair asking price for this engine is £4750.
I was keeping this engine as a spare for my Radical Prosport, but as I have now sold the Prosport and it is too modified to run in my Caterham (class regulations) then I have no longer a need for this engine, hence offering it for sale.
I also have :
a set of Suzuki Hayabusa throttle bodies
Hayabusa Wiring Loom
2 Suzuki OEM ECU’s
Power Commander III
The buyer of the engine can have first option on the above by separate negotiation.
