JAGUAR Low Drag E-type 1963. Matching numbers, FIA homologated Road legal
The owner and Bjorn Hedström at Hedström Motors in Sweden built the engine with parts from Rob Beere/UK and Lou Fidanza/USA - with no expense spared.
The car was built by the owner an accomplished engineer & inventor with some help from the right people. The car ran as a standard coupe race car for 2 years and was built into a low drag car in 2001.
There is no reason why the car couldn´t have a new FIA-papers. Lars Göran Widenborg in the local club - RHK - Racer Historiska Klubben will do new papers if required.
Chassis and body: All stressed parts are made of steel and everything else in aluminum, as light and strong as possible. All panels and details are handcrafted in aluminum.
Steering and Suspension: Everything is absolutely full race with specially made Konis , specially made steering arms with no bump steer , specially made rear wishbones. No rubber mountings.
Brakes: Front brakes are MK IX calipers with special aluminum cylinders and SS pistons – 305 mm discs. At the rear are standard calipers with special aluminum cylinders and SS pistons. The main cylinders are of steel and are balanced by a very special system. Carbone Metallic brakepads.
Wheels: Dunlop peg-drive units with Dunlop Racing tires – 7” in front and 8” at the rear.
Drivetrain: Jaguar all syncromesh close-ratio gearbox with strengthened gearlever neck. Oil cooled rear axle with 3.77 ratios. Balanced light driveshaft’s of high strength tubes.
Engine: A precision and labour intensive made beautiful engine with a honest displacement of 3.8 litres fed by 48 Webers – nothing is spared. 323 BHP at 6500 rpm - 403 Nm at 5250 rpm – rev limit 7200 rpm.
Fuel system: 110 litre ATL-cell with 2 Red Top pumps and Aeroquip couplings.
Instruments : Original speedo but 300 km/h , STACK classic rev. , Racetech – oil temp / oil pressure , water temp , fuel pressure , rear axle temp and ATL fuel.
Security: Full rollover cage. Complete Fogmaker firefighter system. Sparco seats with Willans 3x5 points harnesses for both driver and passenger.
The car was the overall winner in 2004 in the Historic GT-Cup in Sweden having competed in 2002 & 2003 seasons. 5 races per season only. The car has only ever been driven by the owner.
Competed in Finland twice with a second & third place.
