The Cooper S was a hugely successful giant-killing competition car in period and remains so today in historic motorsport. The paperwork states that this car went, as a late mark 1 left hand drive export, to Sweden where it remained until, having been converted to right hand drive, it was brought back to the UK earlier this year. In the intervening period it was part of a collection and, more recently, it was converted into a competitive racecar.

The car is now UK road registered and MOT’d, has in-date safety equipment and has been issued with pre-66 period F FIA papers after a successful inspection. It has had some prep since it arrived and with a modest amount of further work it could find its way onto the grid in touring car series and events such as U2TC and the St Mary’s Trophy at the Goodwood Revival. A cost-effective way to get involved in some top-level historic racing.
