The plug is a period Champion G‑V56 racing spark plug and remains mounted on its original presentation stand supplied by Grand Prix Sportique.

The original Champion certificate, signed by John M. Glover, Manager International Racing Division, states:

"This is to verify that this Champion sparking plug was used by the team inscribed."

1981 was a landmark season for Williams, with the team winning the Formula One Constructors' World Championship with drivers Alan Jones and Carlos Reutemann.
