This is a genuine USA-built Stohr F1000 that has been extensively redeveloped into a one-off turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa-powered Formula Libre, hillclimb and supersprint car.

Originally imported from the USA and later acquired via Arise Racing in Perth, the car was purchased as a roller and then completely re-engineered around a turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa 1300cc engine package.

The car produces 450whp and weighs 440kg, with figures supported by dyno sheets and scale data. This gives it a power-to-weight ratio of more than 1,000whp per tonne.

This is not a standard F1000. It is a bespoke, purpose-built outright speed-event car combining a proven Stohr chassis platform with serious turbocharged motorcycle power, pneumatic paddle shift, E85 fuel, modern ECU control and electronic driver aids.

Engine and driveline

A significant amount of money has been invested into the engine package to reliably support this power level.

This is not a basic bolt-on turbo setup. The Hayabusa engine has been built with supporting hardware selected for serious horsepower capability, with the package built to support 700+ hp potential. 

The car runs on E85 and is controlled by a Haltech Elite 1500 ECU, with electronic aids including launch control and traction control. Gear shifting is handled by a Geartronics pneumatic paddle-shift system, giving the car a proper modern race-car feel and allowing the driver to keep both hands on the wheel.

This car is genuinely one of a kind globally.

It started life as a proper Stohr F1000 platform, but has been transformed into something far beyond a conventional naturally aspirated F1000. With 450whp, 440kg, E85, launch control, traction control, Geartronics paddle shift and Haltech engine management, it delivers the sort of power-to-weight normally associated with high-end UK hillclimb machinery such as DJ, Empire, OMS and similar outright cars.

Trailer package
