Weber 48 DCF 3 triple set Ferrari V12 340 410 375M
Description:
For sale an incredibly rare, authentic triple set of original Bologna-built Weber 48 DCF 3 downdraft carburetors.
These three units feature near-sequential serial numbers (No. 31, No. 32, and No. 36), heavily indicating they left the Weber factory together in the 1950s for a single, high-performance Italian V12 engine.
Historical Application:
The large-bore Weber 48 DCF 3 is legendary in the vintage racing and Grand Touring world. This specific triple-carburetor configuration was most likely utilized on ultra-exclusive, early-1950s Lampredi and Colombo V12 Ferraris, including:
Ferrari 340 America / 340 Mexico
Ferrari 375 America / 375 MM
Early competition variants of the Ferrari 250 series (such as early Europa GT factory race specifications).
Lancia D24/D25
For anyone undertaking a concours-level restoration of a multi-million dollar early Ferrari V12, finding a period-correct, near-consecutive set of genuine 48 DCF 3s is an incredibly difficult task.
Serial Numbers: No. 31, No. 32, No. 36.
The main aluminum/zinc castings are remarkably solid, showing no structural cracks, catastrophic corrosion, or signs of past weld repairs. The units currently wear an older gold/bronze protective storage lacquer.
One carburetor has the main jet broken, just check the pictures.
