Introduced in 1965, the McLaren M1B was an evolution of the earlier McLaren M1A. Designed under the direction of Bruce McLaren & manufactured by Trojan (Elva's parent company), the M1B featured updated bodywork & a stiffer chassis.
This McLaren M1B is chassis 30-22, one of just 28 examples produced. The car was originally campaigned by Candido DaMota from 1966-1967. The car was later fitted with M1C upgrades.
Acquired by the current owner in 2009, chassis 30-22 has since been refurbished and maintained by Heritage Motorsports. It has been successfully campaigned in numerous historic racing events including the Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The car has received invitations to the Amelia Concours d'Elegance on two occasions and was awarded Second Place in class at the 2026 Amelia Concours d'Elegance.
