My lovely MGA race car is now up for sale. It’s to FIA specification & not a MGA/ MGB hybrid. The HTP ran out a couple of years ago. It also has a V5 so can be used on the road. You could race it on a Saturday & go to the local country pub on the Sunday. There is a spare set of wheels with a new set of road tyres perfect for this option.

The following work has been completed over the 2025/ 26 winter period & it is now ready for some fun reliable racing in 2026 and beyond.

Engine – completely rebuilt by MASS Racing & recently checked and sealed by a MSUK official. It has been run in on the dyno so ready to race. I will put the car on the rolling road for final set up in the next couple of weeks (mid March)

Gearbox – 3 synch close ratio with new set of synchros by DWR.

Diff – checked over & serviced by JP Racing.

Radiator – Flushed out & pressure tested.

Prop Shaft – new propshaft built & balanced by FIROW.

Extinguisher – serviced in Feb 2026 so has 2 years before another is required.

Race Harness – Willans harness dated until the end of 2026 BUT being to specification 8853-2016 Motorsport UK has allowed a 5 years extension. In the National Competition Rules for 2026 – page 283 appendix 7 – rule 10. 4 - “For National Events where Specific Regulations require an FIA Homologated harness, harnesses Homologated by the FIA according to FIA standard 8853-2016 may be used for up to five years after the year stated on the label”

Tyres – A virtually new set of Continental Renner historic race tyres that have had 2 races from new in 2025. These and Dunlop are the historic race tyres accepted by UK race series.

The rest of the car is in lovely condition with no rust or rot. Just stick your head under the dash & see how lovely all the wiring is. A testiment to how well it was rebuilt. It does not dissapoint.

Has raced all over the UK & at SPA over the past decade or so. My plan is to race it with FISCAR at a few events again this season unless it sells beforehand. Why not have a season of fun with FISCAR & race it yourself. Fancy Silverstone in April or maybe Donington in May. On the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in July would tick a lot of peoples bucket list or back at Silverstone for the Bentley racing event in August. Finishing the season in style at the Castle Coombe Autumn Classic in September is always great fun.

It’s a lovely fun car & ready to race. Even Danny from Bargain Hunt chose it as his best looking car at last seasons Silverstone event.
