1298 Short stroke Mini engine/gearbox
Built for HSCC class D/Masters by Terry Carthy/ PhilHepworth for Norman Grimshaw and run in FOP 4D extensively during late 90's/2000's, it has raced all over Europe, driven by Norman Grimshaw, Nick Swift and Paul Ingram.
The engine also did the very last timed run at the last Chateau Impney Hillclimb!
A+ Block offset bored to 73.5, forged pistons, lightweight billet rods, Ivey forged 76mm stroke EN40B crank, Manx cam gear drive, Kent 310 cam, Manx race cyl head new old stock, ultra light flywheel, backplate and paddle clutch, straight cut roller drops, Quaife dog box, plate LSD, 4.3 final drive.
The engine had a new block, pistons and the Manx head at the last rebuild in 2019 and has done a handful of hillclimbs since. It was removed in 2020 and replaced by the engine in the car now
It comes with 45 DCOE on steel inlet, and special exhaust manifold. It gave 143.7 bhp and 104.7 ft.lb torque on SH Engineering dyno. Pics available of the build. OBO E8000
