Italycar 77
Description:
The “Italycar 77” is designed for non-competitive use on private trucks or other non-public paved areas. The materials used in its construction are the result of months of research and testing aimed at striking a balance between solidity and practicality. However, due to the high speeds attainable both Italycar S.N.C. and
Italycar USA Inc. Will require owners to sign a release of responsibility at the time of purchase.
Individually handcrafted and assembled in Italy by professional artisans the “Italycar 77” is a one-half scale replica of a world championship Formula One car. Equipped with a 60 c.c. two-cycle engine, racing slicks and disc brakes, the “Italycar 77” is capable of speeds up to 40 m.p.h. Designed for children from 7 to 12 years of age, this mini Formula One is the ultimate gift for model collectors and racing enthusiasts alike.
Initial plans call for a first series of 100 cars to be produced exclusively for the United States. Each car has been assigned a number starting with 1/100. The Italian manufacturer, Italycar S.N.C. has a limited warranty for each car of one year, excluding tires, battery, and failures due to improper maintenance or abuse. Standard equipment includes an original leather “Momo” steering wheel, electric starter, two-speed transmission, “Veglia” instrumentation, safety belts, roll bar and alloy wheels. Fully independent suspension, a steel chassis, and a fiberglass body make the “Italycar 77” the finest scale model Formula One ever constructed.

This exquisitely crafted 1/2 scale 1976 Ferrari 312T2, celebrating the late Niki Lauda's championship victory, commenced production with a limited run of 100 units. This machine is so remarkably well-made, it can hardly be called a mere children's toy; it is the finest scale model of a Formula One car ever produced, a scaled-down replica of the racing car's structure. Produced by Italcar in Bologna, Italy, this model was first unveiled at the 1977 Bologna Motor Show. It is also famously known that Niki Lauda himself ordered one for his son. Originally planned for a production run of 100 units, the model's complex and intricate structure and component assembly made each car extremely labor-intensive to build. After producing just five units, Italcar went bankrupt. These five cars were later sold by Italcar USA, Inc. in America, with chassis plates attached to the meter panels. Later, a company called Pony Car in Bologna, Italy, purchased remaining parts from Italcar and produced two more units. These two can be easily distinguished from the initial production run by differences in tires, wheels, seats, etc. Various speculations and documents often state a total of 12 units were produced, but the true number remains a mystery. Unbeknownst to many, two units were exported from Bologna's Italcar to Japan long ago. These were extremely early production models made in Bologna, Italy, lacking the chassis plate attached to the instrument panel.
Including these two precious units, it's safe to say only 14 exist today. Even among all of them, this model being sold now stands out as a one-of-a-kind piece, restored to near-new, pristine condition through significant time and expense. It is undoubtedly a car worthy of inclusion in any Ferrari collector's worldwide collection, and it would also be an exceptional gift for a child or an outstanding investment piece.
