When the McLaren F1 road car was officially launched in Monaco in May 1992 at the Sporting Club, prospective owners were invited and enticed with a softback brochure.

Whilst we have handled a softback example before, this superior hardback publication was produced at considerable expense using the finest bookbindings and only provided to serious vetted potential buyers – these would have included Rowan Atkinson, the Sultan of Brunei, Ralph Lauren etc. As such there were only believed to be c100 examples produced.

McLaren’s Prototype XP1 features in the publication. It differed from the final McLaren road car in respect of mirror placement and indicators but was the definitive version revealed at the VIP event.

This immaculate copy is offered in its original packing box and represents a rare opportunity for the serious collector
