Left Hand Drive with V5.

Purchased from Silverstone auctions in March 2021 as a rally car , the owner decided to completely refurbish the car. He sent the car to Alan Henderson Racing in Tamworth.

Alan Henderson Racing are well known for their work on FIA spec Lotus Cortinas and this car is built to same standard and speciifcation although it is not eligible for FIA events.

The Car underwent a complete nut and bolt restoration, the shell and paintwork is original from a re build in France in the year 2000.

Some £85000 has been invested in this project so at £37500 it represents a real bargain for such a beautifully rebuilt car. All invoices are available.

Engine: - 1700cc block with a lightened crank, original Lotus twin cam head and 45s Webber Carbs, the engine is completely brand new having covered 185 miles in 3 years  producing 181bhp. Built by Toovey Race Engines, full spec sheet available.

Exhaust: - Custom made stainless steel Exhaust.

Brakes: - New disc brakes all round with new lines.

Gearbox: - complete re build and new gearing. Diff rebuilt and new ratio.

Suspension: - New Koni adjustable suspension, new A frame system to the rear axle with the rear axle being moved forward and installing of a custom made drive shaft.

Wheels: - 6no Brand new light weight rims with brand new Dunlop race tyres.

Peddle Box: - Brand new peddle box.

Steering: - Brand new steering rack.

Heater: - New light weight heater blower to the screen and car, New Heated windscreen, New washer bottle and pump.

Wiring: - New bespoke wiring loom with all new Stack race dials and Gauges with custom made housing and new switches with light indicators to confirm the switch is on or off.

Fire Extinguisher: - Fully plumbed in and nozzle’s to the cockpit and engine bay.

Electric Isolation: - Electric isolation switch fitted and battery cut off.

Roll Cage: - Custom Built with reg plate at a cost of £6000.

The car is virtually brand new mechanically , it would be ideal to race on Hill climbs and is eligible to race in the Classic Sports Car Club, Swinging 60s categories. Having a V5 it could easily be adapted to complete in road rallies I understand.
