It has just been annouced that Japanese race cars are the featured marque for the 2026 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. This is your chance to purchase a significant piece of Datsun racing history!

Listed below is the ownership history of this rare factory lightweight Datsun SRL311 historic race car project. I am making the car available for someone who might like to restore it in time for the Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion in 2026. Lets talk!

More details and photos upon request.

1967 Presented to future two time 24 hr of Daytona winning driver, Bob Hindson, by Yutaka Katayama (Mr. K), Nissan Motor Corporation USA President. Return to Nissan Motor Corporation when Bob Hindson was offered a deal from Porsche for one of the Richie Ginther prepared Porsche 914-6 SCCA C-Production race cars.

1968, Presented to Jack Scoville by Yutaka Katayama (Mr. K), Nissan Motor Corporation USA President.

1971, Jack Scoville sold the car to Dr. David Magaw, Ash Grove, Missouri after Jack had won the SCCA D-Production National Championship at Daytona in 1969 and finishing on the podium in 3rd place in 1970 at Road Atlanta. David raced the car as a member of the Kansas City Region SCCA until the mid 70's also participating in the ARRC at Road Atlanta in 1973 Finishing 11th.

1974, David Magaw sold the car to Glen "Buzz" Riley, Springfield, Missouri. Buzz raced the car as a Kansas City Region SCCA member during the mid to late 1970's. After Buzz aquired the car he ordered a spare engine built by Vern Colvin.

Late 1970's, Buzz sold the car to Byron Lindeman, Springfield, Missouri. (This is when I first became aware of the car). Byron never raced it.

1982, Byron Lindeman sold the car to Dr. Bruce Preston, West Plains, Missouri. Bruce raced the car as a member of the Ozark Mountain Region SCCA. Bruce raced the car in D-Production until blowing the last of the U20 engines. He then dropped to G-Production class running it as a 1600. He last raced the car in 1991 at Memphis Motorsport Park, the 1600 engine having thrown a rod. The car sat in Bruce's West Plains, Missouri garage until 2020.

2020, Acquired by Jeff Moore, The Automotive Archeologists, Ltd.

The car remains as it came off of the track in 1991 after blowing the 1600 engine. The car has not changed much since its earlest days of racing.

Included is a pile of spares including gearboxes and two U20 core engines,
