£13995 - 2000 BMW Compact E36 Compact with 3.0 M54 Engine Conversion

Clubman A Class Champion Winning car in 2023 and 2024  in BRSCC SuperSport Endurance Cup and other race wins over the years.

Twice Birkett relay winner. Class lap time record holder in Roadsports at Cadwell Park.
This race car is well known in the paddock to be a giant killing machine with incredible handling and some amazing lap times around UK circuits, see below)

The car has been intensively modified over my 12 years of ownership, being converted from a 1.9 to a super fast 3.0 M54 engined Compact. These modifications include:-

Lightened to 1025kg with 10 litres of fuel
Front splitter conversion with ramp added to guide airflow into the radiator plus rear wing addition. The front bumper has a personally designed and fabricated brake cooling system using 76mm ducting to take cool air directly onto both front disks (A set of disks last an ENTIRE SEASON).

3.0 M54 engine producing 240 bhp. Oil pump modification and ATI super damper added to the crank shaft (cost £800 on it's own)
Fibreglass bonnet from Geoff Steel, Fibre glass doors from Lowes with aircraft designed clamps to fix the upper doors to the chassis to prevent opening at speed (essential when using fibreglass doors), Fibreglass bootlid
Fibreglass front wings and rear wheel arches
Revolution motorsport alloys on used Yokahama AO52 tyres (235 fronts and 255 rears - The car takes big tyres well)
Gaz Shocks Monotube fronts, Gold rears
BMW LSD with re- profiled ramp angles (60/40) with final ratios 3.77 (perfect for every race circuit in the UK, i never felt i was in the wrong gear on a corner as thedifferential and gearbox combo is perfection)
Modified air induction system taking air from the front headlight forced straight in to the engine (Also have an internal air filter modification in case of heavy rain)
M3 exhaust manifold conversion to aid air flow out of the engine into the 3 inch exhaust system (single exit)

Pagid RS29 brake pads, M Tec C groove disks, brake calipers are the E46 3.0 conversion for better stopping power over standard

Uprated H&R anti roll bars all round

Fuel system has modified twin pump system using 255 Walbro pumps and one way valves to limit fuel starvation on low fuel.

Heat anagement inside the cab has been solved by having air vent Naca Ducts adding to the rear quarters and that is enhanced by strtaegic air vents in the rear windows to aid cooling - works amazingly well

Gearbox is the standard M44 COmpact gearbox unmodified, it's relaibale and spare boxes are very cheap (£100), Z3 clutch system.

SO the car has had extensive improvements, but lap times tell the full story. This is a 230 - 240 BHP per tonne class car and i have achieved the following lap times at these tracks in the last couple of years.

Silverstone GP - 2:25.5 - Birkett 2024
Donington Park GP - 1:45.6 - 22 June 2024
Snetterton 300 - 2:09.4 - 22nd July 2023
Croft - 1:31.4 - 26th April 2025 - Roadsports

The car is super quick for its class and more importantly its very very cheap to run compared to comparison cars. It's been very reliable and successful over the years, i'm moving into the 300 bhp per tonne category so have decided it's time to let someone else enjoy this phenominal car.
