The Ligier JS P2 is an LMP2 (Le Mans Prototype 2) designed by French manufacturer Onroak Automotive in 2014. Developed as a successor to the Morgan LMP2s that were opened, it embodies a major advance in terms of aerodynamics, performance and safety. Its name is a tribute to Guy Ligier, the brand's founder, and marks Ligier's return to endurance racing after several decades' absence.

Design and technical specifications

The Ligier JS P2 marks a major evolution in the category, as it is a coupé built around a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis . In terms of powertrains, the Ligier JS P2 had an open architecture, allowing it to be powered by several engines: the Nissan VK45DE V8, the Honda HPD V6 and the Judd HK V8. With a minimum regulatory weight of 900kg, the JS P2 features double wishbone suspension, an XTRAC sequential gearbox with steering-wheel-mounted paddles, and carbon brakes.

Exceptional results at the highest level of competition:

Since its launch, the Ligier JS P2 has established itself as one of the benchmarks in LMP2. Over the course of its career, the Ligier JS P2 has accumulated 33 pole positions, 31 fastest race laps, 56 podiums, 19 victories and five titles.

 

Chassis #7 for sale - Podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2015 with G Drive, then entered by Algavre Pro Racing in ALMS Championship: 2nd place in 2018 - 2019

 

Chassis #7, part of the Ascott collection, has a remarkable racing history. Entered by the G Drive team in the 2015 World Endurance Championship, it competed in three rounds of the Championship, driven by a crew consisting of Roman Rusinov, Julien Canal and Sam Bird.

At the 6 Hours of Spa, it qualified in second place in the LMP2 category but had to retire during the race.

At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Sam Bird secured second place in qualifying and the JS P2 finished the legendary race on the podium!

In the next round, the 6 Hours of Nürburgring, it qualified in second place and finished in second place.

It then returned to Ligier.

From 2017 onwards, the Algarve Pro Racing team entered this JS P2 Chassis 07. Our JS P2 once again distinguished itself by finishing 6th in the Asian Le Mans Series championship in 2017-2018, then 2nd in 2018-2019.

It was then purchased in 2022 by a British competitor directly from Algavre Pro Racing. The latter drove it with great success in the Masters Endurance Legends. At the wheel of the Judd-powered Ligier JS P2 #07, he finished on the overall podium on numerous occasions, notably at Brands Hatch (two second places), the Nürburgring, Silverstone (two class wins), Spa (fourth place and class win) and the Algarve Classic Festival (sixth and fourth place).

Acquired by Ascott Collection at the end of 2024, this Ligier JS P2 is available for sale with a very attractive stock of parts.

With the eligibility limit for Masters Endurance Racing set at 2016, the Ligier JS P2 is the most modern LMP2 capable of scoring points in this championship.

It is ready to compete in Masters Endurance Racing Legends, HSR in the United States, as well as Legends of Le Mans by Peter Auto and Le Mans Classic.
