 The car's electrical systems were carefully built up by Bert Meier in 2003 and 2004. Equipped with a gearbox from a 2005 Mitsubishi Pajero, this car offers a robust transmission. The engine, a Mitsubishi Pajero 3.6-litre V6, was built by Johan van Eek of Hengelo. This powerful engine is equipped with MMS Motec, high compression pistons and custom camshafts.

In 2023, the car was bought by Tachyon Motorsport in Eemnes, where it was completely rebuilt and prepared for the Classic Dakar in 2025.

The car has already proved what it can do in three tests in Morocco, namely at the Loasis Sand Rally, Rally Raid and Africa Classic. This Kia Sorento is not only a piece of racing history, but also a fully restored and optimised machine, ready for new adventures and challenges. This makes the car perfect for a rally enthusiast looking for a unique and proven car with an impressive track record
