The car existed in about 1995/6

 William Hewland (Hewland gearbox) was approached by Klaas Zwart, Ascari owner, to rework the car for the 1997 season in British GT1. A major series of changes were undertaken, including a new BMW turbo engine, new Hewland TGT gearbox, rework of the front hubs, suspension etc. Bodywork modifications also

It ran at Silverstone for 20 minutes for the photo shoot for the Silverstone Classic and then it had a new engine prepared by Van Kronenburg Autosport Holland fitted; it then went back to run in the Silverstone Classic and I think it ran for 2 "processional" 20 minutes sessions around the circuit (one session was cut short due to a Jaguar fire on circuit)

 It is now the only Ascari GT1 car in existence - I have been reliably informed that 3 cars were originally built and 2 were destroyed by fire - this remaining car was the one Klaas drove.

 The car went to race at Le Mans and broke down on the pre race start laps
