Description:

Here we have a ‘clean sheet’ purpose-built 993 GT2 Replica race car that was built up from a new factory shell in the late 90’s for well-known Australian Porsche enthusiast and racer Chris Stannard.

This was not a ‘budget’ build, at the time the best of everything was used and the build was completed by the best engineers ( Bob Stevens ) and Porsche Specialists such as Autohaus Hamilton & PR Technology.

Local Porsche Cup regulations at the time were quite restrictive, twin turbo set ups were not permitted because we all know how good Porsche was with those. Hence only single Turbos were allowed and even then, the powers that be added restrictors and weight all in the name of slowing them down to meet the competition. This is why this car is still running its original circa 500HP 3.8L single turbo set-up.

It continued to compete until the late 2000’s in various competitions such as ‘Intermarque’ with some great results and is now offered for sale.

It would make the ultimate track day weapon or very capable race car to be run in classes such as Production Sports, Porsche Club Sprint Championships etc.. One of the great things about this car is all the parts are still easily available and if something goes pear-shaped it’s half the cost and liability compared to running a $500k - $800k 992 GT3 / RS around the track.

Lastly, we have just serviced the car with all new fluids and carried out a full checkover including a compression and leakage test; following a number of years of inactivity. It is now ready for its new owner to run through final tuning on the dyno ( recommended ) before getting out onto the track.
