Retired Engineer Engine builder machine tools for sale - A Bridgeport Milling Machine, Colchester Chipmaster Lathe, single phase to three phase converter, a Whatton & Sons “Wandess” Boring Machine with all of its associated tooling, there is a large selection of milling and lathe tools plus a dividing head all of which can be seen in the first photograph.

The machines are all in good working order and are fully operational as shown. Both the miller and the lathe are fitted with their manufacturers specific 3 phase motors which are powered from a single phase (240v) to 3 phase (440v) converter making the whole set up ideal for anyone wanting to work from home, electrical power usage is lower than many of the 240v appliances found in a home.

The Bridgeport is a turret mill with a table length of 42 inches a table width of 9 inches and uses an R8 spindle taper.

The miller comes with a large amount of cutters and chuck collets with all the necessary tooling for skimming cylinder heads, valve seat work, piston machining operations and many more accurate machining operations with the added addition of digital read out on the X and Y axis. As part of the tooling there is a specific “Serdi” valve seat attachment set which is made specifically for the Bridgeport miller which allows valve seat removal, replacement and recutting, with set-up manual and parts books. There is also a pair of  adjustable angled cylinder head mounting plates for use when valve seat work is being performed.

The Colchester Chipmaster lathe comes with 3 and 4 jaw chucks, faceplate and steady. The bed has been modified so up to 13 inches (330mm) diameter can be swung in the chucks / faceplate. The lathe runs through a PIV gearbox so there is every spindle speed available from 35 to 3500 rpm. The lathe also comes with a large amount of tools.

The Wandess 3A boring bar is a 240v machine and can bore from 2.6” to 6.6” (66mm to 167mm) diameter and comes with a full set of tools and micrometers. There is also a honing plate to fit 4 cylinder Fords. (Total weight is approximately 80 kg)

I can organise for both the miller and lathe to be lifted onto a trailer of flatbed, the miller weighs 1.2 tonnes and the lathe weighs 0.5 tonnes.
