THIS 1963 300SE COUPE HAS REMAINED IN IT'S ORIGINAL CONDITION FOR THE PAST SIXTY YEARS. 

Finished in dark blue with a grey leather interior, light palisandre wood and untainted windows, this car is truly an image of the height of early sixties style and elegance.

The W112 floated on air suspension and was powered by the M189 fuel injection engine, the refinement of this combination is still relevant today.

We bought this car in Geneva where it was sold new in June 1963 to its first owner. In the early 80s it was sold to another person from Geneva and in 1987 that person's wife, for an undisclosed reason, went down to the garage where the car was kept and smashed the windows with a hammer! The owner subsequently bought from Mercedes new windows and they remained on a shelf next to the car for the next 30 years as getting the car back on the road was a source of disagrement between the owner and his wife. We bought the car off this owner with his original old/new stock windows and then made an extensive and detailed re-roadworthy work on the car befitting of a vehicule with such an extraordinary story to tell.

Regarding the bodywork, the car has 100% original paint (about 90 microns), colour code 350H. This original paint, which shows signs of use, has kept a lot of its shine.
The original chrome is in good condition.
The vehicle’s underneath is perfect and has never been repaired.

The car has its entire original interior, the leather is soft, the woodwork has never been restored. The carpets are a bit used.
All on-board instruments and the heating are functional.

In regards to the mechanics, some restoration work has been undertaken in order to have a reliable car without loosing its original patina.
The engine is very silent, again highlighting the exceptional state of conservation of this car.
The pneumatic suspension works very well, the car permanently maintains its height even when it is left standing some time.
