Fiat Wainer Junior Formula 1959 Rare opportunity to acquire a Junior Fiat Wainer formula from 1959 authentic and manufactured in only 4 copies.

At the time, it was one of the first cars to introduce a rear engine configuration into a junior formula.

The body is entirely formed in aluminum, the engine hood is a real work of art. Wainer was a small avant-garde manufacturer of racing cars, based in the city of Milan in Italy. The company was led by Gianfranco Mantovani. The first car was a junior formula made in 1958 and the last car will be a formula 3 made in the late 1980s.

This elegant little single -seater was propelled by a Fiat 1100 cc engine prepared for the race, the two carburetors are rare Weber From 38. The scale chassis specially designed at the time is reinforced and mounted with 4 real borrani wheels.

This car is very well documented (vintage photos) and ran intensively during the period 1959/1960. We will note to its credit around thirty races in 1959 and ten in 1960. It was victorious in January 1959 during the Grand Icecar price in Cortina in the hands of Manfredini. This pilot beat a set of fast cars and competent pilots including a promising young Lorenzo Bandini.

What a heyday!

This car was fully restored in Italy twenty years ago by the late Wainer Mantovani itself. Since then, she has benefited from great maintenance each year. It is used regularly with great care and respect for its mechanics during historical demonstrations.

She recently returned to her native land and participated in the Vernasca Silver Flag in 2019 and 2023. Always very well maintained mechanically and cosmetically.

She was dedicated by the famous Arturo Merzario and since her body has been entirely varnished.
