For sale is this fully eligable, 100% legal and highly competitive 1976 Royale RP21 Formula Ford 1600. These rare cars are not only quick (winning the festival and many championship races in 1975 and 76) but benefit from having plenty of parts from the original jigs and moulds readily available form FCS Competition Services. 

The car has fantastic pedigree having been designed by Rory Byrne, the genius behind all of Michael Schumacher's title winning cars at Benetton and Ferrari. This particular RP21 was invited to appear with Rory on stage while he spoke about his life and career. It still bears his signature from that evening. 

Originally sold by Royale to the Toleman brothers who raced it in period, the car still carries the period Toleman livery which bears the Gulf logo as it did in the day. Famously, Toleman started an F1 team in which Senna made his F1 debut. Toleman F1 then went on to become Benetton F1 which further cements the connection to Rory Byrne. 

The asking price is for a race ready car with fresh belts, battery and fire extingusher. A reduction in price of £1500 will be given if the buyer would like to fit their own belts and fire system. Included in the sale is everything you need to go racing. A single axle open trailer, spare wishbones and uprights will all be part of the sale if wanted.

Chassis: Fully rebuilt including a back to bare metal rebuid, crack check and fresh powder coat. New master cylinders for front, rears and clutch. Fully refurbished brake calipers, professionally rebuilt and set up rear uprights and bearings. Aluminium radiator and dry sump oil tank (original radiator included in spares package).

Engine: Scholar race engine with only free practice, qualifying and 2 laps of a race at Brands GP. Qualified 2nd overall in a 31 car grid with a 1:39.6. Sadly, rose joint failure ended the race after only 2 laps while fighting for the lead. No mileage since apart from periodic start ups and stored in race car work shops at all times. 

Gearbox: Hewlan Mk8/9 in excellent condition and fitted with 14/36, 18/32, 22/29, 24/27.

Spares: 3x cast Mag Royale uprights, Full set of wishbones and suspension linkages, 2x new wheel bearings, 2x rear hubs, and spare radiator.
