Description:

Well known MG ZS race car, currently running in Cockshoot Cup, but eligible for MG Cup and MGOC series with minor changes ( wheels and tyres) as well as multiple other " saloon" championships.

The 170 package derives from the MG tropy ZR's closely controlled vvc engine and box and "170's" have been adopted by other MG series.

In order to get the ZS to same minimum weight limit as a ZR, body mods and plastic windows are allowed. The car was weighed at Donington, bang on 1050kg minimum weight with an 85kg driver and a bit of fuel left in tank.

Longer and wider than a ZR, with more sophisticated Honda derived suspension, ZS road cars handle very well, but this thing is amazing, fully adjustable and fitted with Gaz Gold ride height, bump and rebound adjustable coilovers with remote canisters all round. Dampers were recently serviced and rebuilt.

Brakes are standard ZS V6 discs, with Mintex pads and work very well.

Impressive, professionally built, full welded multilink cage, expensive seat, new 6 point harness for this year, FEV electric extinguisher system, flocked dash, heated screen, change lights, removable steering wheel...all the toys!

Engine by Paul Streather, box by CMC Motorsport, who built and have maintened the car for years.

10 matching 17" alloys with 6 Dunlop Direzza dry tyres ranging from brand new to " will do a few more races on the back". 4 Dunlop racing wet tyres, old but stored properly, amazing, but only required if chucking it down as the car copes very well on the Direzza's if damp.

The ZS has run previously in class C ( 190 vhpd engine, close ratio box and slicks). It was competitive, but previous owner decided to run it in 170 spec. Extensive rebuild carried out in 2020, inc engine, box, suspension service etc. Has only done 5 events since, 2 races with previous owner and 8 with me. With a distinctly average driver on board who hadnt raced for over 20 years, it has been highly competitive and set fastest race lap ( in 170 class) in all 10 races.

Bodywork presents well, shell is straight and tidy, but has been a race car for years so has a few battle scars. Complete set of spare body panels and spare xpower bodykit available to new owner if wanted
