The 750 Formula is the oldest continually running racing formula in the world. Names such as Arthur Mallock, Colin Chapman, Eric Broadley, Mike Costin and Gordon Murray, to name a few started with the 750 Formula. The current regulations result in a variety of cars that have to use the same Fiat 1108cc ‘Fire’ engine with limitations on the modifications. This leads to close racing within a ‘slicks and wings’  format.

 

The car on sale is a unique creation by Dave Robson based on his many years racing cars to his own designs in 750 Formula. His cars have won races, claimed fastest laps and claimed two championships. This car is modelled in CAD and benefits from the use of laser cut components and 3D printed parts. It has a new chassis and engine and is ready for the 2024 season following a successful shake down at Donington. It is based on the SDAR/17 car that has been developed over a number of years and proved to be successful yielding 2nd and 3rd positions. THE MAIN FEATURES OF THIS UNIQUE CAR ARE AS FOLLOWS…………….

 

·         New laser cut monocoque chassis giving smooth undertray leading to kevlar rear diffuser

·         Carbon fibre bodywork incorporating air inlets and exits plus aerodynamic features

·         Many bodywork and structural fastenings are standard Formula 1 components

·         Adjustable pedal box with alloy brake and clutch pedals and carbon throttle pedal. Double brake cylinders with balance bar & remote adjustment

·         Carbon dash with all instruments and switches including brake balance knob

·         AIM dash / logger with 15 channels. The GPS module enables lap times and track maps to be captured. Data collected from engine sensors including RPM, water & oil temperatures, oil pressure and battery voltage plus wide band lambda sensor. Other sensors include lateral & longitudinal accelerometers, throttle &  brake positions, all wheel speeds, suspension displacement, steering angle. The system is easily configurable for alternative sensors. 7 extra temperature sensors complete with looms and plugs are included

·         Fire extinguisher just serviced and seat belt replaced last year.

·         Transponder is fitted into the loom

As seen within the above listing, this car incorporates many features to be found in cars that complete in ‘professional’ series. It should not be confused the less sophisticated offerings.

 

The purpose-made enclosed trailer as seen on the photograph is available for an extra £1,500. It is a four wheeled braked trailer with raising aluminium roof. It has a low profile for ease of towing. The suspension, wheels & tyres were renewed about 4 years ago.
