This is a highly sought-after two-litre Super Touring car from the celebrated era of British Touring Car Championship racing.

A 1997-build car constructed and run by MSD (Motor Sport Developments) in that year’s BTCC and driven by British ace Patrick Watts in its distinctive Esso Ultron green and gold livery.

Currently located in Adelaide, South Australia, chassis PR003 is one of only three 406 Super Tourers cars built for the 1997 BTCC season and later raced in Australia in the BOC Gases Australian Super Touring Championship by Kiwi racer Tony Newman in 1998 and 1999.

This car made two starts in the world-famous Bathurst 1000 in Australia, in 1997 with Watts and Aussie racer Neil Crompton as a works car and in 1998 with Newman and Mark Williamson as a privateer entry.

Car later competed in the Touring Car Challenge in Australia and Sports Sedans until purchased by current owner in 2007.

Its engine was rebuilt and the car returned to its original Esso BTCC livery, making a popular return to the track at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival in February for the first time in 17 years.

A simple overfill of water that flowed onto the windscreen prompted the owner/driver to shut down the car during its last run in Adelaide purely out of caution, the car is 100% healthy with no problems and ready to run again.

Car comes with both CAMS and AASA (Australian) log books and is the perfect Super Tourer for the racer or collector.
