Description:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION 1961 Turner Modsports car.
CHASSIS
The original chassis had to be replaced due to previous crash damage and mediocre repair. A new chassis of the original Turner design was made by Robin Knight (his 17th such chassis) and a tubular space-frame was constructed on top of that, complete with a ‘full’ rollcage of 40mm cds tubing. A dashboard of 5mm aluminium is bolted to the dashbar and adds to the chassis rigidity. With the exception of removable panels above the gearbox all the 1.5mm aluminium panelling is stressed, glued and riveted to the space frame, as is the undertray.

HISTORY
Has been a Modsports car since early 70's seeing lots of success as a Shelsley Walsh, Prescott, Loton Park regular. Changed to circuit spec 4 years ago. Last season was a class winner, outright podium 3 times. Fantastic handling, very safe and stable, class front runner and capable of giving much more powerful cars a run for their money. Croft 1.35. Silv Nat 1.05.
Easy to revert to hillclimb car. Had an invite this year to the Shelsley Nostalgia meeting.
For sale due to the fact that I now have 2 cars for racing in the same race, and I can only drive one at a time.
