Description:

Only selling as I have the chance to buy another track car which I’ve always wanted (e92 M3). So this little rocket needs a good new home.

This car is pretty well known in some of the Facebook groups, and was built by the owner of GRP4 Motorsport. Anyone who knows Matt will know he doesn’t do anything by halves when he builds cars. He sold this Meglo about a year ago to someone else - which I then bought from them about 6 months ago.

I have been in touch with Matt ever since and he’s been amazing at giving me insight into the car, the parts used and how he set it up. The previous owner had changed a few bits, so I have (at great cost) put it back to how Matt originally built her.

I’m sure he would speak to the new owner too, but I do ask that he’s not plagued by questions as he isn’t the one selling it!

Overview:

It started life as a car that KTEC were selling, on about 76k miles and standard spec 197. Original reg is NV08 CLX. Matt then did the following:

Shell:

  • Inside painted 2k racing blue
  • Full 14 point Mark Fish cage
  • Carbon rear diffuser
  • Footplates
  • 2 x Corbeau Revenge X seats on SWM mounts
  • 6 points harnesses
  • Extinguisher (not wired in yet but is plumbed in)
  • Lightened in all the right places
  • Carbon door cards
  • Custom interior loom
  • Race battery located inside car
  • Aero catches
  • ODB scan gauge
  • Wide race mirror
  • Quick release Renault Sport steering wheel
  • Clio Cup roof vent
  • Customer brake cooling ducts

Engine

  • R26 engine on only 50k miles with ARP rod bolts
  • Megane 275 turbo
  • TTV steel flywheel
  • Helix paddle clutch
  • EFI tuned to 293 bhp and 295 torque - have graph
  • 3” scorpion

Fuel system:

  • Custom teflon full feed and return in custom cell
  • AH swirl pot
  • Bosch 044 pump
  • Sytec adjustable FPR

Gearbox

  • Megane R26R box
  • Gripper race diff
  • Uprated shafts

Brakes

  • Recently rebuilt callipers front and rear
  • PFC BBK 330mm separate bell and rotors discs
  • CL RC6 pads front and CL RC5 rear
  • Braided hoses and custom cooling ducts in arches

Suspension:

  • KW Clubsports
  • Polybushed ARB
  • Lightened tubular underside brace

Wheels

  • Rota wheels on AR1
  • Stud and nut

The above list was pretty much how the car was built.

Since owning it I have done about 8 Trackdays and done the following:

  • Refurbed the gearbox
  • Put in the race Gripper
  • Carbon ZPO shifter
  • Oil change after every 1-2 track days
  • New PFC front rotors, new CL RC6 pads, new RC5 rear pads
  • New R26R clutch
  • New drop links
  • New shafts
  • New carbon Track Car Aero roof spoiler
  • New steering rack
  • New seats and mounts, new harnesses
  • New steering wheel
  • Tons of other bits and bobs just keeping it right - will be on invoices

I have all the invoices from the previous owner, plus the ones I have had since owning it. 2 keys too.

I put the private plate on R26 WPN - this isn’t included in the sale, but happy to negotiate. Plus I have an almost new full carbon bonnet that hasn’t been fitted. This is for sale on top of the car cost.

The car is simply stunning and not like the ones you see for £6k built on a drive. This one has been built with tons of care and anything that Matt needed for it when it was being built was either bought tor fabricated by himself.

The two workshops who have worked the car have both commented on the quality of the build and the obvious sheer amount of care that was taken. If I had the room I’d keep it, but the RWD e92 itch is strong in me unfortunately!

The car is road legal BTW, so has an MOT.

The tyres have only done 2 hours at Brands and so have the crazily powerful new brakes!

Gripper has only done 3 Trackdays and so has the refurbed gearbox and brand new clutch, plus new shafts.

Seats were new and installed by me, so they are pristine.

Oh, it’s garaged btw and ready to go.

I am happy to give test drives in it, around where I live, but please be mindful that the CL rear pad don’t come with rattle clips, so they aren’t very forgiving on the road at low speed with vibrations! Mega on track though… and if they really bother anyone, it’s a simple swap of the pads.
