Officially designated the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25, Porsche created this limited edition, track-only variant of the GT2 RS Clubsport to celebrate 25 Years of Manthey-Racing. Founded in 1996 by racer and winner of the 1990 Porsche Carrera Cup Championship Olaf Manthey, Manthey-Racing is often likened to Porsche's “skunk works”.

Since 2006 Manthey-Racing have won the Nürburgring 24 Hours seven times and in 2021 set the Nordschleife production car lap record with a 6:38.835 in a Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR. Described by Porsche's Director GT Racing Cars, Matthias Scholz, as “closely affiliated,” Porsche has owned 51-percent of Manthey-Racing since 2013. So, it's readily apparent why Porsche felt it was time to honour Manthey-Racing with a special variant of the GT2 RS Clubsport, but not one that was simply a cosmetic restyle but rather one that presented technical advances breaking new ground for those privateers interested in track days and circuit racing.

Underneath sits the base of the 991-generation GT2 RS Clubsport, which means a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six producing 690bhp and sending its power to the rear wheels only via a seven-speed PDK gearbox. From there, Manthey steps in, because this CS 25 takes inspiration from the team’s 911 GT3 R racer which Nürburgring enthusiasts have affectionately nicknamed ‘Grello’, thanks to its green and yellow colour scheme.

The front end of the Clubsport 25 was completely redesigned for improved cooling and added downforce. The front bumper features a large carbon fibre splitter and canards for more aero grip, while a centrally mounted radiator provides better engine cooling. This setup also allows the removal of two radiators either side of the front grille, which make way for brake cooling ducts. Deep bonnet vents, inspired by Manthey’s GT3 R racer, help channel hot air over the roof and to the rear wing, and a small central NACA duct provides cabin ventilation. High-power racing headlamps also feature. Just 30 examples of the Clubsport 25 were built with each car receiving a dash-mounted “25 Jahre Manthey-Racing” numbered plaque.

This Clubsport 25 that we are offering for sale is number 19 of the 30 produced for 2022. The car has been used lightly by its first and only owner, showing just over 300 KMs on its digital dashboard. It is currently fitted with transport wheels and tyres but a second set of BBS wheels with Michelin slick tyres are also included with the car. The bonnet and removable steering wheel have also been signed by Olaf Manthey and Porsche factory driver Kevin Estre. This car represents a significant piece of contemporary Porsche and motorsport history and would surely be one of the greatest modern racing cars for track days and circuit racing alike.
