The drivetrain and running gear (suspension) were originally sourced from a well-known and ultra-competitive US-based C3 race car which was assessed before refurbishment as follows:

Drivetrain 

Period correct 4 bolt mains 427 with new aluminium cylinder heads fully rebuilt in 2023 with new rods, pistons, heads, valves, intake – new ARP studs etc. Fully dynod and run in with 620bhp – 11.4:1 compression meaning that it can safely run on regular shell optimax fuel. 

Lightweight high output Wosp starter motor and alternator ensures this car fires on the button. 

To ensure reliability, oiling is improved by a new Aviaid dry sump system with 3 Gallon Peterson type Aviaid dry sump tank fitted in the rear deck compartment. All lines supplying fuel/oil were made to aviation spec with aeroquip lines and fittings. 

The car runs a re-jetted holley 750CFM Double Pumper carb with a custom aluminium cold air intake to improve air fuel ratio.

This Vette runs a lightweight racing clutch mechanism using original mechanical fork as per FIA. The gearbox is a race-specification Super T10. This box underwent inspection and the internals were professionally REM Coated and ‘superfinished’ – resulting in a significant reduction in power loss through the drivetrain. The gearbox is silky smooth. 

The engine breathes through race-spec long tube headers that have been professionally ceramic coated inside and out to LMP / F1 quality finish in order to reduce heat.

This car is guaranteed to be the loudest wherever it races! 

Suspension

Chassis has been fully seam welded and gusseted per period guidance from Dick Gulstrand, the godfather of Corvette Racing. All bushes have been replaced with polyurethane, heavy duty anti-roll bar, vette brake products suspension links / smart struts with offset trailing arms to allow for massive 12 inch rear wheels to give optimal traction.

Brakes 

New brake master cylinder, new brake lines throughout, fully rebuilt and period-correct J56 twin pin performance brake package up front running Hawk racing pads, fully rebuilt rear calipers also running Hawk racing pads – new discs all around with AP High temperature race fluid. 

Wheels 

Currently running Duntov high performance lightweight split rim alloys on new Goodyear Bluestreak tyres. These are the lightest and best wheels available and are priced at $1,200 new per wheel. The car is sold with 11 wheels total. 6 Duntov wheels per the below and 5 American Racing  10x 15 wheels.

Bodywork

With L88 fender flares this car looks mean standing still. The car benefits from a new (and lighter) front end and L88 hood. Also has a new rear end with lightweight fiberglass bumpers mounted front and rear. 
 

To eliminate the troublesome and heavy wiper door mechanism, this car has a lightweight and period correct fibreglass wiper door delete panel. 

The hardtop is removeable with poly-laminate (not Perspex) rear screen and FIA headlamp covers. 

Interior

The interior benefits from new OMP lightweight race seats on lightweight brackets with new Schroth 6 point harnesses. 

It has a lightweight FIA approved mechanical extinguisher system with 13" lightweight removable steering wheel by Joes racing products. All the small details have been made to lighten weight wherever possible.

Aside from the wheels as mentioned there are various other spare mechanical parts supplied with the car. I am willing and happy to offer a comprehensive spares package with anything from body panels to chassis parts by further negotiation. 

C3 Corvette Go-Kart

Also available by separate negotiation is a Manco (Honda GX160 powered) minature C3 go kart, finished in identical colours and livery which is suitable for any child between approx. ages of 5-11. The ultimate conversation piece and perfect for any enthusiast who wishes to involve their kids into the sport. This is the only one in the country and believed to be the only one in Europe.
